As I sit here on our back deck, enjoying the beautiful spring weather here in Hilton Head while writing this post, I can’t help but feel we are truly blessed to be in such a wonderful place. Basking in the late afternoon sun, we are relaxing after volunteering at the Arts Center for the matinée performance of the musical, 9 to 5. A fun romp through the workplace, you won’t want to miss this show which goes through May 25. This is the third time we have volunteered to help out in exchange for a “free” ticket and have nothing but good things to say about the experience. Hit the “Volunteer” tab on their website if you are interested.
The Tennis Pro League of Hilton Head is in full swing with a large crowd turning out this past Friday night at Rose Hill for lots of exciting play. We saw plenty of people we knew with everyone having a wonderful time cheering on the local pros. The next match is this Friday, May 9, at Palmetto Dunes.
We enjoyed late night appetizers at NEO after the Pro League Tennis match and recommend it for fresh, local and creative cuisine. Lunch at Captain Woody’s on Friday was a delight as we both enjoyed Saltwater Fish Salads, talking to the owner’s father at the bar while “The Boys” were being groomed at All About Pets around the corner. After lunch, we stopped at Shirt Magic to order shirts, visors and hats for our new tennis-specialty website HiltonHeadLovesTennis.com.
John is planning on fishing this week, using a boat from our Freedom Boat Club, while I enjoy my newest exercise adventure, Qigong, at Jarvis Creek Park. The weather is supposed to creep up into the 80’s as we welcome tennis friends from Paramount Tennis Club in Ohio who will be enjoying a weekend tennis retreat at Port Royal Racquet Club. Ohio tennis pro, Beth Winquist, teams up with her sister, a pro in Cincinnati, to bring their players here to enjoy our beautiful courts and beaches. I will join them on Thursday morning for a round robin and lunch. Ah, another lovely week here in Hilton Head!
